There is nothing unusual about wanting to enjoy a meal without drinking alcohol, or is there?
Now, for those of you who enjoy the idea of a tipple without the subsequent hangover, you can try Seedlip – currently the only distilled non-alcoholic spirit on the market.
Made from two barks – Oak and Cascarilla, two spices – Cardamom and All spice berries and two citrus peels – Lemon and Grapefruit, these have all been individually distilled to create a sugar-free, sweetener-free and allegedly calorie-free alternative to your usual alcoholic beverage (it is actually 0.2 calories per serving size).
The brainchild of Ben Branson, who named the spirit after a basket which was used by farmers for holding seeds before they scattered them, the concept was formed after he came across a copy of the 1651 tome The Art of Distillation which described using herbal remedies for illnesses.
With two more products on the way, for now you can tinker around with your own bottle of Seedlip to make any fresh cocktail of your choosing.
Strong Cardamom, Nutmeg, Cola and Lemon
Clove, Pepper, Dry Wood, Bitter Citrus
Seedlip is available to buy from Honestly Healthy and can be enjoyed at Dandelyan, The Savoy, Sexy Fish and Hix
