I start each morning with…
*A squeeze of lemon in hot water which I sweeten with organic maple syrup.
*If the sun is out and the wind is just so, I like to go for a thirty-minute jog with a few exercises in the middle.
The green products I cannot live without in in my make up bag are…
*I have just discovered MV Organics Rose Soothing and Protective Moisturiser (cultbeauty.co.uk).
*In winter I add a couple of drops of rosehip and jojoba oil to combat dry skin in the cold weather.
*Aesop’s deodorant keeps me smelling lovely, this is down to the zinc ricinoleate in it, which kills off the bacteria (aesop.com).
My secret green beauty trick is…
*Some of the best hand-me-down beauty secrets that I’ve come across are from my friend’s grandmother. The Chinese have so many incredible tips – the latest one I use is watermelon rind as a face scrub. It is really cooling and draws out impurities.
My positive mantras are…
*Always aim for the moon, even if you miss you’ll land among the stars (Businessman and philanthropist W. Clement Stone).
*I never have unattractive thoughts, I won’t allow them (former Vogue editor-in-chief Diana Vreeland).
Books on my reading list which inspire me are…
*I am reading all about Chinese Medicine at the moment. I get a feel-good factor when you learn exactly how our bodies work.
*Healing your emotions: Discover Your Five Element Type and Change Your Life by Angela and John Hicks (amazon.com). The book is a beautiful insight into the links between the body’s organs, our feelings and the elements. It’s a philosophy that has been around in China since 200 BC.
My favourite healthy snacks are…
*I am addicted to pink grapefruits.
*I have also been introduced to LoveRaw bars (eatloveraw.com) by the amazing nutritionist Eve Kalinik who has a practise at SP&CO (spandco.co.uk, 020 7351 3332) The bars are packed with goodies that are slow dried at 38C so the nutrients stay intact.
My weekly exercise routine consists of…
*I do a mix of Iyengar, Hatha and Vinyassa yoga once a week. My friend Kim Williamson (www.shantilife.net) comes to Cult Beauty HQ and teaches my sister Alexia and I. The intensity of a session depends on how heavy the week has been.
I can’t travel without…
*If I could only take one product to a desert island it would be Pommade Divine (pommadedivine.com). I use it for everything, if I have chapped lips or when I fly I slather it all over my face. It’s a thick salve with clove and cardamom oil and nutmeg in it and leaves my skin soft and kissable.
*Restore Aura Spray from Aromatherpist Michelle Roques-O’Neill’s Therapie range with rose blossom, wild sage and cucumber extract is amazing for frequent flying or when you’re suffering from jet-lag (cultbeauty.com).
At the moment I am focussing on…
*Never has my diary been so packed, one minute I’m in Germany modelling dishwashers, the next I’m massaging a princess in Knightsbridge, the next I’m writing an essay on health.
*I am also training as an acupuncturist at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading. One of my jobs is massage which is a very physical practice. My arms have never been so strong!
A green and healthy lifestyle is important to be because…
* Now I’m in my 30s I seem to care a lot more about my health than my 20s. I need the energy to fit everything in.
